  • aww i like snow toes!

well i picked up some things for their stockings today

for ds, 2x mini diego figures, friction powered car, mini fishing game
for dd, 2x barbie thumberlina scented doll bracelets, tiara earrings and necklace set
then a pack of 8 bouncy balls which i will split between the 2

all of the above for under £6.50 so im thinking maybe a couple of books each and some sweets and they'll be done!

Snow Toes is cute - think if i can find a polar bear or other white animal that might just be stolen for our secret Christmas guests name this year. :j

Benji keeps asking me for a yo yo so think I might put one of those in his stocking this year.
Also might try and get him some books as he loves reading,
    a bag of chocolate coins
maybe some small lego models or small ben 10 figures (he loves him)

My Ben is really into colouring as well so might get a cheapy colouring book and some pens from wilkinsons.

Also saw today in Game that they are doing super mario figures, they are only small and think they have 4 of them but they would fit in a stocking. Think they were £5 each but you could get one instead of the set - thinking i might do this for Ben, and get one for in his stocking as they should fit perfectly. Failing that I might buy the set and have them as a main gift as hes Super Mario mad at the minute.
    Time to find me again

  • I've only just discovered this site. OMG this thread is amazing! my daughter will be 18 months old this xmas, i want this to be really special this year as me an my ex wer really unhappy last yr so xmas wasnt tha gr8, but wer nt 2getha anymore so this year wer spendin xmas wiv my family. I LOVE the idea of xmas eve hampers! I've never heard of this before. I already have a white basket, I'm going to try and get a christmas themed material to line it with as the one on it is plain white, im also going to try and get some red ribbon to tie on the handles. I'm going to put an xmas flannel in (theres one i've seen on hawkinsbizzar), Reindeer food, a homemade 'santa stop here' door sign, snowman soup, xmas pjs (I'm hopin to take a trip to primark, i think theyr pjs are the best!) a letter from santa, a santa key (as we don't have a proper chimney) a small teddy (tesco bring out chilly and friends every year...i hope they do this year to), magic snow, cookies, I also saw someone write a really cute idea on last years thread about putting a shiny star on the window 'to show santa the way'.

For her stocking i've already got a small soft toy, 2 small books, i'm hoping to get bubbles, bath toys (ELC have got some good 1s), some giant crayola crayons, xmas socks, little hair accessories e.g. hair boobles, headbands etc. I can't think of anything else. I'm so excited though!! Having a child, really brings the excitement back to christmas. I just hope i can make christmas magic for her
  • I've finished my DS' Christmas Eve goodie bag now - it contains.....

    Pyjamas
    Slipper socks
    Bubbles for the bath
    A Thomas wash mit
A new Mickey Mouse cuddly toy from the Disney Store
    Chistmas Eve story
    A "letter from Santa"

Just need to add the reindeer dust!

Not entirely sure what I've got for his stocking but its all adding up!
  • Kayleigh N - My son will be 21 months this christmas and I am in exactly the same position as you. Last christmas was ok but there were lots of problems that we tried to put aside for the day, not always easy. This year we are no longer together and I am so excited about making the day as special as I can, in fact I want to make december a magical month! Ex willbe coming over on christmas morning and taking DS for a few hours but he will be with me for most of the day. I am loving the idea of the christmas eve hampers, I think we will be eating at my mums but I am sure there will be time for a snuggle under a christmas blanket and a christmassy film. I can't wait!!
  • purplegirluk1 I've just seen your post, me and my DD are spending most of xmas wiv my family but my ex is obv coming to see my daughter, how long are you allowing your ex to see your son? i was thinking of 2 hours, that should allow enough time for my daughter to open presents from him and play with him...i'm tryin to stay as amicable as poss, but its VERY difficult!

kayleigh and purplegirl im the same my ex caused lots of problems last x-mas finally got rid of his new years eve and this x-mas i want to be extra special as he will be 2 and half. he was living in a pub as a caretaker so i wasnt worried about him wanting to see tom but now he has moved out starting to worry as i know he will cause trouble. i did think of when his mum comes round getting her to take tom to see terry for a hour or 2 as i will be a my parents and he wont be welcome there or at mine. but its juts gritting teeth and getting on with it!
  • jemtom, as its only me and my daughter living at mine, my ex will come around mine, theres no way will i let my ex take my daughter out, he's clueless, lazy n only thinks about himself, and how he looks. But i know he will kick up such a fuss if i dont let him see her on xmas day. His parents don't see my daughter (theyr choice not mine) they tried to boss me around and were demanding to take my daughter out the week she was born (which i wouldn't allow), i put up with the snide remarks n them bossin me around 4 a while but eventually told them that i wasn't putting up with it so they took the hump haven't seen his dad since then and his mother came down the day b4 her bday, but its always on theyr terms, i was civil to her when she came down last but they hvnt even phoned to see how she is (its been almost 4 months since i last heard from them) so when it comes to xmas they can stuff it 'cos they haven't bothered! If your not comfortable allowing your ex to take your son, could you not meet somewhere neutral?

I know how some of you feel.....me and LO dad have been spilt up a long time and Ive always travelled 500 miles home to see my mum etc for xmas every year. This year however my mum will be away to Australia and my little ones dad doesnt give a hoot about him, so it will just be me and LO - for the first time ever! And he is 7!!!

I know how exciting and nervous you all are, but can I just drag the thread back onto topic please for a teeny weeny minute?!??!?!? :D

I am loving the xmas eve hamper idea and I am going to do that for me and littley - I am also loving the letter from Mrs Claus on 1st december but Im worried mine will be a bit old for this......although having said that, he does sleep with his cuddly toy every night

And the elves.....what exactly do you do with the elves....sorry if Im being a bit dim....

Someone mentioned it sitting on the TV - are these Santa's spies? xx Is this something that my 7 year old boy is likely to buy into?

    TIA xxx
