send a card to a sick child

Hope you're still monitoring these messages. I'm trying to combine two things here by hoping to put a smile on the children's faces and also to recycle things. The recycle bit would be to send the kids, as a gift, those little toys that come out of Christmas crackers (yes I still have some) as well as the gimmicky things that you find in cereal packets. Obviously not all Christmas cracker and cereal packet thingys are suitable but some, I suspect, are. To me it seems a shame that these little gimmicky things are just chucked in the bin.

Do you think these type of items are OK to send as gifts.

Hi Mike, those kind of things are great, kids like little things like them and they are often so light to post, so will be wonderful. Thank you very much :) Just an ote that we now have a new way of recording who has been sent post, the link is http://www.postpals.co.uk/mailstats.php

    Thanks again, Viks

Hi Carolyn, just chat to them like you would any other kid, Amelia P is in need of TLC at the moment and loves fairies so you could say how much you like tinkerbell (assuming you do from your userpic) and go onto to talk about other disney things you like, (shes just come back from eurodisney). Thanks for wanting to do one. Love Viks

  • Marvellous. I think I will try and get my work colleagues to save those little cereal packet gimmicky things for me. I don't have any kids myself but many of my colleagues do. Hopefully, I might even persuade them to post a letter to a child on your website.

Is it worth explaining, on your website, what type of gifts might be of value to these children, so as to give an idea to people who are thinking of sending a gift to a child. I'm not sure what type of gift I could send a sick child other than those gimmicky cereal packet things - you could put this down to my ignorance of having no children myself.

There is a new stats page on the site now which lets you know which kid hasn't received as much post as others

What a lovely site - this is the first I've heard about this charity, so will try to write some cards as soon as I can think of what to write.

    Thanks!
