Another Unhappy Orange customer

In December I bought a Samsung Tocco Touchscreen on contract at my local Orange shop rather than online in case there were problems.By June the screen started to play up but as I was in the middle of exams I did not get to the shop until July. The assistant informed me that the phone was out of it's 6 months Orange guarantee (although I am sure that I was told originally 12 Months) but they would send it back to Samsung for a £15 fee. As I have spent hundreds of pounds on calls in the past I thought this was a bit rich and started quoting the Sale of Goods act etc. The guy countered with the fact that the phone is a free gift and wasnt covered by the Act!! Anyway, he wouldn't have it, so off I stormed. Acouple of doors away is The Carphone warehouse and I popped in to ask their advice about it.He was really nice and said that he would send it back to Samsung for me. I told him that I hadnt bought it there but he wasn't fazed - he even provided me with a replacement phone whilst mine was away.Just received the original phone back from Samsung and all if fine. Two fingers to Orange and I know who I'll be buying my next phone from.Anyone know whether Orange is correct about the SOG act?
