Working from Home - Virtual Call Centres

Working for Arise has it's own thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=24207087#post24207087

Been doing some more research and Arise are NOT the only organisation offering this sort of work!

http://www.maygenta.com/the-benefits

The AA, Scottish Power (and maybe BT) are all looking for homebased CSAs.

The AA supply ALL your equipment and furniture:

Does anyone work for any of above (not Arise)?

  • I did apply for asrise, and havent worked for any of the above..

BUT i am in the process of joinging a simular set up BUT THEY PAY A FIXED HOURLY FEE and you can work up to 40 hours a week, they are saying with no issues. They have 4 contracts and 1 more coming on board. The pay isnt great, initially £6 per hour, going to £7 plus after training

I am reluctant to say who the company is at the moment as I have in house training with them next week, so as of yet i do not know if they are legit - but gut instinct tells me they are, so thats good enough for me ATM.

There are no set up fees, except a voip headset you obv need inet connection and pc/laptop but we all have those to be posting here anyway.

their fees are 3%, so £3 of every £100 you earn and you can be self employed - no ltd companies etc

The only down side is that you need to do in house training that is 2 days and unpaid, this is based in Buckinghamshire. But on a plus note they are UK based and have been operating almost 20 years.

I will deffo post more next week once I have attened training but i dont want to send ppl on a wild goose chase without knowing they are 'good to go'
  • brians daughter - sounds interesting, all the best with the training and I look forward to hearing how you get on! :)

With the AA you have to work at one of their call centres for 3-6 months to learn the job first.
  • Also, not VCC related as such, but if you have a specific skill ie sales, marketing, book keeping, web design etc try people per hour.

I have heard people say it is impossible to get work from them, this is untrue.

I have been a member a relatively short time and already completed 4 small projects which took around 3 weeks in total and earned myself £1250 from it.

I will say however, it works on a feedback system (like ebay) so your 1st job you may have to do at little profit just to gain the feedback.... It is all about how you come across to the ppl who post the job!

PPH take a % of your payment but i have found that clients are coming back to me rather than posting via pph for future work... so it is well worth it to me, Plus PPH take a deposit from your client to ensure you will get paid if client decides they do not want to pay you - i have luckily never had to be in this situation, but i am sure in business this does happen.
