Hi everyone,
I had a candy table a few weeks ago at my wedding and it went down a storm with the kids and the big kids as well (sorry adult guests!!!) We had a large selection of sweets, mainly from costco/asda smart price/£1shop etc. We put them in a variety of vases/fishbowls/glasses and bowls. I also bought some of the little paper bags (what used to be 10p mix bags) from ebay and left them for guests to help themselves.
One thing though you might want to bear in mind is that if you are to uut large spoons/sweet scoops out for people to use to get the sweets you may find that people help them selves to more than just a few. With this in mind i just left it for guests to pick there own, most of my sweets were wrapped anyway. Worth thinking about.
Another little thing i did to make it a little personal was to make up little cards (business card size) saying "the bride and groom have pleasure in providing a candy table full of goodies so please enjoy later today". These were handed out in the tea/coffee cups at the end of the wedding breakfast prior to the staff going round and asking if guests wanted tea or coffee of course! Worked well and enjoyed by all x0 -
I love all the pics on the thread, got some great ideas. I think I want tongs rather than scoops. xx0

Just found someone on ebay selling a load of jars etc that she used for her own sweet buffet. Unfort shes to far away from me, shes in Bedfordshire.
Does anyone know where you can get letter shaped serving dishes. Id like mine and OH initials S&C or the word Love.

We are having a candy buffet at our wedding party next year (we are getting married abroad on our own and then having a party with friends and family when we get home) - I bought a set of "LOVE" dishes from Dotty Dreams. Also ordered some bubble bowls from Easy Florist Supplies (really cheap!).0

Until I read this thread, I'd never heard of a "Sweetie Table" but it looks a fab idea and I wouldn't mind visiting a wedding with one!

I talked to h2b about this thread so we are now having a sweetie table:rotfl:
We went to Ikea last night & got lots of glass jars, bowls, plates and some great pint glass tankards for 99p. We have too many kids in the evening to buy the delicate glasses, beautiful as they are! LOL Just need to find some scoops/tongs now.
I am waiting until the last week to buy the sweets otherwise h2b will eat them... and I'll have to buy them again!Merry Christmas!!!!0
