Another bathroom quote - sorry!

Options
Hello
I know from searching there are loads of bathroom quotes on here but everyone is having something different done. Would hugely appreciate if someone can let me know if the following is a reasonable price..

Remove existing suite (cast iron bath, loo, sink)
Relocate soil stack removing cast iron (I think) soil stack and replacing with black plastic.
New pipework hot and cold to bath, shower over bath, WC, sink, & downstairs kitchen sink
Move towel rail further along same wall
Install new cold main & waste for washing machine
Fit bath, basin & wc
Fit new stop tap
Test on completion
12 month guarantee on new work

Including labour & materials (excluding bath, shower, WC, sink) - £1250
This might not include fitting shower - I've just noticed it is not stated

Tile (approx 20m sq walls and floor) - £360
Supply & lay 6mm ply to complete floor - £170

So total for bathroom and other bits we need doing is £1780

This is from the guys who fitted our heating so we know they will do a good job.

Had a second quote for £30 less for the same work (but from people we don't have personal experience of) so have a feeling the figure is roughly good, just wanted to get a feel from anyone else if they are able to help!

Thanks:beer:
Em x
PS sorry for length of above - I thought it was best to put all the detail in...

Sounds very reasonable to me especially as you have used him before and know that his work is good.

    6mm plywood on the floor!!!!!!

    Avoid these cowboys

Flooring when done to BS is a minimum of 18mm WPB plywood

6mm is fine for vinyl, carpet, OP hasn't mentioned what they are doing with the floor.

Er, have to admit I am not sure what we told them, have been undecided whether to go for vinyl or real tiles. Quote was prob for vinyl in that case.
Thanks - it hadn't occured to me there would be a difference. Would it have to be 18mm if we go for tiles then?

    States Tiled walls and floor;)

Even for vinyl i would use 12mm and then latex screed such as Mapei Fibreplan

The vinyl may look flat when laid but give it a few weeks and all the under floor imperfections will start to show

We have floorboards underneath, will that make any difference?
OH mentioned the quote was for tiles so I am a bit concerned about the fact they were planning to do it with not thick enough flooring underneath...

    6mm plywood on the floor!!!!!!

ok i am having my bathroom done and in my quote there is the 6mm plywood on the floor ( notably the floor already there is being removed since rotton- not sure what is under it)- and planning to have tiles put on the new floor.

so can someone explaine if you would ALWAYS put more than 6mm depth of plywood if you are going to tile the floor?( why is that ?? ) What happends with clearance for the door that opens into the bathroon??

I need to know above before I approach the pumber who has given the quote- and is actually going to start the work in 3 weeks!

    thanks

6mm plywood will not support tile deflection

You are best to use 6mm Hardibacker screwed and glued at 150mm centres or either overlay with 18mm plywood screwed at 150mm centres or rip up existing floor and replace with 25mm plywood

Doors can easily be shaved, Floors cant be relaid easy when they crack!
