I have just sold a brand new item to a bidder whch inc postage costs £2.30. He won it last night (Sunday). I havent stated when I wont think paid - now I will! He has emailed me to see if I can wait to payday this Friday for payment. What gets me is I have told people I have a young baby and I dont have much time plus clearing the house and this eegit comes along!! Suggestions on how to deal with him appreciated!!! Feel like telling him I amnot a charity and I cant believe he is bidding without having the money - shame on him. Just had a look and his feedback is private - I wonder why!!

EBay allow a week minimum to pay, so paying Friday after winning on a Sunday is well within the time frame allowed.
If you take cheques or postal orders etc then realistically you can easily wait for 10 days to receive payment. You may need to be a little more patient on ebay, there is nothing at all you can do until day 7 anyway.

Indeed, and it is only four days away afterall. Some buyers wouldn't even have the courtesy to tell you. Mine didn't, and I waited those 6 days assuming he was going to end up a NPB.It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

I'm confused as to why him paying in a few days has any impact on how much time you have to clean the house and look after a baby?0

Umm, it doesnt! if he pays within a week then theres really not much you can do about it, no matter what stipulations about time you put in the listing.
Believe me there are a LOT worse buyers out there!0 -

His feedback being private doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's the percentage you need to worry/think about. I agree with everyone else, i had a buyer wait till i opened a dispute to pay me without any communication whatsoever. A polite email would have been nice.
If having little time because of baby/cleaning then maybe eBay isn't the best place for you to sell?
Just a thought and not meaning to sound harsh.

I had a buyer ask the same. i sent a nice mail back explaining that they should really have the money before they bid. They never replied and never paid.MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0

I've got one on the go at the moment, looking at the persons feedback they usually pay quickly so I assumed that they're a bit skint and have said no problem. They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0

This has happened a couple of times to me. On both occasions I replied in a friendly tone that I was prepared to wait but only for a stipulated time and both buyers coughed up in all fairness.
Better them warning you than not paying at all IMO.Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0 -
