Remote logins - recommendations

    PCAnywhere works well and the remote desktop you 'takeover' can still be seen by the person at the far end (in fact, they can also type and mouse in parallel to you). The Remote Desktop of Windows XP blanks the screen at the far-end, so you can't show the user what you are doing. Don't know how VNC works, but you may want to have the remote user see the desktop when you are assisting them.

    I use both PCAnywhere and RealVNC.

    You pretty much get what you pay for.

    PCAnywhere costs, but has more features and tends to be very stable, it does use more resources though.

    RealVNC is free, has a simple set of features, stable enough for most and uses a very small amount of resources.

    You are accessing through a VPN aren't you??
