Didn't go. As I kept repeating to sa staff in shops on saturday. I don't play well with others in large crowds. On the bus coming out of city centre at lunch time I could hear the driver's radios. Pleas for extra drivers to come in for overtime. One driver screaming for more buses at his stop as he had 500 people queuing up. And he was not joking he said.

    Went on Thursday:eek:

2 car loads travelling from the North West, we left early but Radio Ulster told us along the way to forget about park n ride as it was full already:confused:

We took the Asda route instead:D Parked at shore road store, caught the bus outside into town and walked from there, it was bloody packed and river front walking with a buggy in that crowd was not good. Calmed down a bit after a while and had a good look at the ships and spent a few quid in the market.

Great spectacle and reasonably well organised, everyone had seen the forecast and plumped on Thursday being dry:rotfl: thats why it was so crazy. Got the free shuttle bus back to City Centre, shopped a bit and the out to Asda again, a good day all around with Belfast being the winner hands down;)
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Looks like Belfast City Council are trying to get the Tall Ships back in 2015, 6 years of planning ahead then!

The McCooeys were a fictional Northern Ireland family and the subject of a BBC Northern Ireland radio programme in the 1950s.
