Offered half-price line rental, no new phone, accept?
My contract's due on Vodafone, they've offered me half-price line rental on an 18-month contract without a new phone (500 mins / unlimited texts for £12.50 pm).
Now a sim-free deal on most networks is £15 for 200-300 mins and 300+ texts. I'm unsure whether to tie myself into Vodafone for the sake of £2.50pm savings.
What do you reckon? Can I push for better? Should I just switch?

What is the likelyhood of your current phone lasting another 18 mths?
I would say about 0, so it's not really cheaper without the new phone, is it?0 -
How do you come to that conclusion?
I am yet to see a phone that lasts 3 years+... and if it does you don't get bored with it.
But that is just my opinion. If you have a problem with it, it's your problem.
It's up to the OP to decide whether he thinks he is going to last with his phone for another 18 mths. I just gave him food for thought.0 -

You must be getting very poor quality phones or treating them badly then

I see that you are from the "I can give the OP food for thought but you can't if I don't agree with it or if it contradicts me" school of thinking
Appart from the fact that you were contradicting me but lecturing me..
2 entirely different things.
Poor OP. Didn't get much advise here, did he?0
