I'm more concerned about the fact that their child had such severe reaction, and their first thought was to call their bank.
Ditto, if I was in that position I'd run to the nearest A&E barefoot if I had to. I wouldn't be able to think straight for long enough to confirm my ID over the phone far less take in information about refunds of charges.
I wonder what the child was doing all the while Mum was on the phone sorting out her financial affairs? There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -

Now 20% cooler0 -
Using her card to buy stuff off the internet?
Well, with A&L's waiting times on the phone he probably had time to crack her chip and pin code and go shopping in person! There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -
My son suffers from a dairy allergy if he has anything with dairy his face swells and is immediatly covered in itchy red hives he is only 1 year old. Usually I have his allergy relief medicine on stand by but I didnt realise I had run out.
Today he had a biscuit from his brother who is 7 and it came from a factory handling dairy products and had a reaction. I had less than £1 in my wallet and no funds in my account. I had incurred bank charges the past two months of £225 mainly due to the incompetance of the CSA but thats another story!!
I phoned my bank (Alliance and Leicester) and begged them to refund the charges so I could buy my son his medicine the man on the other end of the phone was AMAZING :A he refunded £175 into my account straight away and within 20 minutes my son had his medicine and was looking much better. He also said he was sending me a claim form to refund any other charges I had incurred under hardship as I am out of work at the moment.
So a HUGE THANK YOU to Alliance and Leicester from me and my son xxxxx:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I do think the OP overdid it on the images0

Thank you OP!
I will now make a point of avoiding A&L since they clearly employ people of dubious intelligence."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
A&L are a complete waste of time. Whoever you speak to on the phone is of dubious intelligence and a pathological liar.0

A&L have given us two years of hell which we were unable to escape from as they plunged us into debt as we opened the accounts by screwing up thier "easy switch" service; failing to apply some DD and paying others twice! Hard worked for Credit scores messed up irrevocably; latest is that they changed a cash payment into my partners account from £260 to £160 without any consultation, today they had failed to have a cheque cleared which they had stated would be clear by today. Now that sounds petty, but this was my only day off for months (self employed) I'd planned to recklessly go to the hairdressers, have coffee and maybe buy a new (and cheap) top. I wont have another day off for ages and they wrecked it by giving out "misinformation". Staff in only office locally are useless and only say "all we can do is apologies", well if I misinformed like this or got payments wrong I'd be fined for it! Obviously this is just a couple of memorable highlights from nearly two years of Hell!
Sick of A&L being recommended as a bank account - they couldn’t organise a moderately entertaining evening in a brewery.
They ignore letters of complaint until threatened with IFA, phone staff are aggressive and useless and I cant figure out what the in-store staff are being paid for at all. If they do deal with a complaint it takes months and when an agreement is reached they "forget" to re-pay or re-instate and then cant understand past notes! Yet again I have spent a day chasing round after them and now I need to find a bank with any kind of brains (and ethics hopefully - though that may be asking too much!)
I am so glad that others have posted their horrible experiences as they make you feel you are the only one to doubt thier genuis service!0
