Anyone got any ideas....both my friend and I have fridges that are freezing our food and icing up on the back internal wall. Hers is new mine is not so new but not old. No matter how many times we hack the ice off, clean it out etc the problem recurs. Frozen salad is horrible!Any advice would be much appreciated.Jan

Just sounds like they need turning down! there should be a dial somewhere with numbers on it. or am I missing something?0

Snap. Got a Hoover fridge freezer - about 6 years old maybe - in the past 6 months the firdge has started to freeze things placed either at the back or on the bottom shelf. Was actually coming here to post to see if anyone can recommend reliable fridge freezer manufacturers for a new one...
It might be the thermostat is knackered - requires an engineer though.0 -
Is it turned up too high? Is the door seal ok, is it fitted level??0

Give it a good defrosting then , Iced up in the rear.0

As previous posters have said, you need to turn the temperature setting down. You only need to have it set to settings 2 or 3 for a normal fridge load. Anything more it is going to freeze. The higher settings are only designed if you are filling the fridge to 90-100% of the capacity...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Mine is running far too cold also. Sadly, however, its a Hotpoint, with a little lcd window and buttons to increase/decrease temp. Even on the warmest, 6deg, setting, its much too cold. Presumably it is a wonky thermostat, which would mean another expensive callout, so I think it could be time to look at the opposition, and hopefully get back to a simple knob setting.0

Thanks for the reply. First thing I thought of was to turn it down but it is already on 1 so when it's on 0 it's off! (then I think it's classed as a cupboard!) Had some stuff on top of it so have removed that and scraped ice off so will let others know if that does any good. This won't help my friend as hers is integral (posh)0 -
Did you try to turn it to max?
Surprisingly, my new fridge is colder on the lower setting.0 -
Hi had the same prob recently- was a worn door seal. have you checked there are no splits/tears in the seal?? HTHwhen things go wrong, Don't go with them!0

Ours did the icing inside the fridge thing about 5 days ago,it has since packed in completely.:-(
It is/was around 4 years old,all the seals were fine.
Looks like it just gave up.0
