Follow up to 1st neg

Posted on here few days ago now as got my 1st neg.

So just after some more advice.

The buyer left me neg feedback and then filed a claim with paypal, i never got chance to reply on paypal, i wasn't sure how you did, so i sent them a message saying i wasn't sure how to reply on paypal and what did they want to do.

Next thing i know they've put a new message on the paypal claim saying i am harrassing them and then the status changed from claim to dispute.

Paypal then sent me a message saying the case is closed and they don't look at cases involving quality of items, only the delivery.

I have left the buyer alone seeing as though they deemed me trying to help them out as harassing them.

However can anything more come of this? They've left the neg feedback and tried a claim through paypal, is it all just over and done with now, or should i expect something else to happen?

I'm confused as this is wrong. If the buyer had put a claim in for item not as described they probably should have won (been told to return for full refund) So was the claim for non delivery? (which could be why paypal said this)If it was then they could put a claim for INAD and they obviously put the wromg claim in originally

Onec a claim has been closed they can't reopen but they could open another one for another reason

Just looked at your original THread HERE Looking at that the buyer should have won the claim. So I assume I was correct and they put the wrong type of claim in. As I said if they did they could open another one

Im confused myself as i wasn't given the chance to reply via paypal.

Never had a dispute you see so had no idea how to reply, couldn't see a reply box or anything. So just emailed the buyer at which that reply for some reason annoyed them, so they replied in the dispute box in paypal that i was harassing them and then the status changed to 'claim' and then suddenly closed.

This all happened in like 3 mins.

Im not trying to get away with it so to speak as if to say 'i'll keep my money they suffer kind of thing', but the buyer has scared me away from contacting them again with saying i am harassing them.

If they'd calmed down and told me how to reply on the paypal dispute, i would of replied telling them to send it back and upon getting it back, full refund, but they didn't me a chance.

They also won't send proof of the problem, i asked nicely if they could, i didn't implie they were lying, just that i needed to see the problem 1st. I never got a direct answer from them.

What other dispute can they open though?

Type of claim it says in the resolution centre is 'not as described', so i am assuming they did select the right catergory.

Did paypal maybe close it because i wasn't given the chance to reply?

I'm even more confused. They should really have won that case (they obviously did something wrong with it). As that case is closed they cant open another one. So that should be fine. Make sure you put that buyer on your blocked bidders list. If your going to reply to there neg do it in a polite mater of fact way. Nothing puts people off more than ranting replies to feedback. Hopefully that should be the end of it. A few sales along and you will totally forget about it

    I'm still confused!

Has Paypal now refunded them so that they have both the refund AND the jeans?

What did their negative actually say?

Why don't you just phone Paypal and speak to someone about it? They may help ease the confusion.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

IIRC.... it sounded like PP had processed the dispute wrongly. (See 'buyer complaints' glitch some months back) No refund has been given.

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • I have no idea if paypal has refunded them.

Last thing i did was contact the buyer saying i wasn't sure to reply on paypal, then the buyer added another comment on paypal dispute saying i was harassing them.

Next thing i get an email from paypal saying its closed.

Not heard a thing from the buyer or paypal since.

Negative said 'hole in bum, won't refund £4 post with bid,so why return? BEWARE'

I got the neg literally right after i said p/p couldn't be refunded, but winning bid would be upon return of the jeans. In that message i also asked how big the hole was.

Never got a direct reply to that.

Im not a horrible seller as i only sell occassionally and would of done more to help if i was given the chance.

I asked how big the hole was as would of given a partial refund for the inconvience if it could of been sewen and the jeans still worn and if the hole was that bad that the jeans were useless i probably would of refunded the whole amount after having seen a picture of the hole.

After the neg i did email them saying why so quick to neg, could of worked something out and still can if you send through a pic of the hole i could give a partial refund.

Again i got no reply, so actually have no idea how big the hole is.

The neg says 'hole in bum', but when they told me about it, they said the hole was on the bum at the bottom of the back pocket. (my 1st thought was tiny hole in the pocket', but i guess i will never know.

Just a thought, do you think Paypal may have closed it because maybe the buyer has a habit of opening SNAD's? Or is that not something they would do?

OP, as you have the money & they have to Jeans I would just leave it. If the dispute had continued on they would not have received their money back until they returned the item tracked to you.
  • I think i will do, just to clear things up so i can relax about it all.

I know its silly, its just ebay after all, but its thrown me cos i could of sworn those jeans were fine, i hardly wore them as i've lost loads of weight.

I was mortified when they said a hole was in them as felt so guilty for selling something in that condition, but they won't let me see the condition of them.

I didn't know whether paypal closed it as i wasn't given the chance to reply on the dispute. It was all filed from dispute to claim within 2 mins and it says on paypal that they do look at the comments given when deciding on an outcome.
