    That's the strange thing, I get loads of these type emails on an account I barely use so I'm not bothered about the amount of spam I might get so I replied to lots of them saying "So sorry to hear of your loss, and yes I would be pleased to help out" and the like, but none of them have even replied. :(

  • Apart from the usual dislike of such scams, I find the use of a genuine US army division even more distasteful. I have copied the message to the US army.

  • Not quite! The 3rd Infantry Division has its own website and I copied it to their contact email address, suggesting they might like to investigate as it does their reputation no good.

    They wouldnt use a tank , they would just drop a daisycutter on the address. Sorted

    Next email you would get would be a fine/penalty for breach lol lol
    Scammers never give up...
    But in as much as we can laugh all day, i can bet some peeps still fall for this largely due to their own greed.
    The problem is 2 way - i.e. both original email sender and the receipents who choses to partake due to greed
