As there is an excess of rental property available.
The average potential FTB would struggle to raise a sufficent deposit in a high cost property area.
i think you're points vary from area to area.
there will be many people that buying is not the right decision but fior others it is.
what i'd say and is pretty obvious - but if people are waiting for houses to be become "affordable" at their entry level they may have to wait until the next HPC or they may get that opportunity at some point in the next year.
for the sake of saving a few thousnad pounds they miss out on buying their home for the next 10 years. let's see how things turn out... :beer:0 -

Its too easy to generalise. A house in Stoke On Trent could be bought for as little as 60k, similar here 150k , in London £750k ().
So the deposit required varies greatly. :beer:0 -

More than 130,000 university applicants are expected to fail to get a place this summer amid unprecedented demand for a higher education.
Too add as stated and disbelieved earlier this month.
The minster for higher education was on Radio 5 this morning.
Record numbers of student will be going in to higher education this year. More than any other time in our country's history.
So Graham and Shakerbaby perhaps sometimes when someone as heard and mad a valid point it is sometimes better to look in to it rather than just argue against it. (also record pass rates and record applicants will cause students to miss out on some of their chosen places)
You may actually realize that that person may be right.0 -
I heard that interview. Yes, you are correct. But he was also pulled up on a couple of things.
Record numbers are also probably due to be rejected. And he was also pulled up on how he explained the "places".0 -

I have said in my post that lots will be rejected on their chosen coarse's due to high grades by others and increased competition.
I presume some of the "lower uni's" will be taking the record numbers as people struggle for places.
PS Thanks for bold bit, I will frame it0 -
Feel free to frame it. I was saying you were correct on what the minister said.
Your agreeing with what I said a few pages back though0 -

No it was me who posted the article so I knew more were going to be refused so you did not state it, it was actually the article I posted. (so no star Graham)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/5994681/130000-face-university-place-rejection.html. (I did read the article before posting it Graham, the title is fairly clear)
Also this is maybe what I said.
That does not mean that lower choice unis will not see an increase of students. Also colleges etc.
Where is the brick wall icon.0 -
LJ you are most probably the least VI poster on here.(didn't cut the whole quote to save on screen space)
I can never tell if you are bear or bull. You get my "realist" stamp of approval
Just wanted to say thanks for this Really2.
To be honest, I don't know what I am either! I think I fluctuate. Some arguements I can see the bear side, others I can see the bull side. It depends on context I think...
Though more often than not, I am more interested in finding the truth, than anything else. I like the debate. :jIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
