Grrr I hate Orange, what are my rights??
I got a text at 5am this morning which woke me up (thanks Orange) to say my service has been changed, turn the phone off bla bla bla, so obviously I knew I'd been cut off
So here's the story, I went on holiday in May and ended up going over my normal bill as expected, by £150 . So I rung them up as soon as I landed back in England to pay my bill, because I had been paid whilst on holiday so my normal payment was 2 days late. I paid £65 straight away, (my normal phone bill should be £35 apparently, but I always seem to have to pay £42.50 because my payday doesn't fall in line with there collection dates, so I have to pay by card and charged for it )
So I explained I couldn't afford to pay the bill in full and I would over pay each month until I was square again, which I have, each month of £70.
Now I am cut off, I get paid on the 21st of this month, I just paid £70 at the end of last month, but they wont lift the ban, I am now going to be paying for 8 days when I can't use my phone.
I've been with Orange for years now, I pay through the nose it and have always paid my bill.
Does anyone know my rights with regards to having to pay for days I can't use? Or getting it put back on, I'm going to be lost without my phone??
I am soo mad, sorry for the long post, any help would be apprieciated.
Thanks

Change your payment date so it's inline with when you get paid......0

They only collect on the 13th and 16th (or around those dates) I was told, which is no help to me, trying to keep enough money in my account for that long is not easyWins for 2013: Cafetiere (£40), Mangajo Drinks, Alan Partridge goodies0

it depends when your bill runs from. mine used to be the 22nd - 22nd of the month. the reason for this is because when i took the phone out it was on the 22nd of april. (i have now since cancelled with the T&Cs.) and my bill used to debit on the 7th (about 14 days after the bill is produced).0

Your contract says Orange can bar you for late or non payment, if you only make a partial payment for the amount owed they'd be within their rights to bar you.
Your contract also says your responsible for paying the bill if they do bar you:
3.6 You will remain liable for all monthly or other periodic Charges during any period of Suspension.

Can Orange take the money out whenever then? I have been led to believe they take everyones money out over the same days.Wins for 2013: Cafetiere (£40), Mangajo Drinks, Alan Partridge goodies0

I'm stuck then. Can't they give a loyal customer a break. (rhetorical question) Thanks anyway guysWins for 2013: Cafetiere (£40), Mangajo Drinks, Alan Partridge goodies0

Mine goes out on the 27th. If you get through to accounts and then escalate it up if they won't help, and point out that if they get the date in line with your pay day, then they will keep a happy customer rather than lose an unhappy one, they might be willing to cooperate.
But you may have to accept that for one month you might have a higher rental bill as they would have to change the billing date/period to reflect the changed payment date.0 -

Why don't you call the Executive Office on 0800 0790134 and explain the problem and ask for their help. My bill date is the 12th and the DD comes out on the 7th of the following month. Don't see any reason why they can't let you pick a bill date but why not ask for their help.0
