Unfortunatly no matter what you do he will find a way round it, I know I did.

as suggested before find a few sites that you deem acceptable and allow him to view those, playboy.com is a really good site and it is just glamour but is full frontal everything is airbrushed and the girls are hot I am sure it would keep him satified, yes it is a pay site but there is a samples section. taking this approach will hopfully keep him happy and he will not start searching for !!!!!! and end up on some of the sites that you wouldnt want him on where he can get hold of more hardcore !!!!!! from other countries.

a very crude way of blocking sites is to use the hosts file and enter domains and point them to 127.0.0.1 which is the local machine
    make an enty like
    127.0.0.1 playboy.com
would block playboy (the gap is by using the tab key)
The file is located in the following path
    C:\%systemfolder%\system32\drivers\etc

It is a good way buy again he will start using search engines and end up finding the type of stuff you dont want him to see.

You don't actually mention how teenaged your teenaged son is? There a big difference between barring a 13 yo and a 17yo! Where theres a will etc. Is there a personal reason (i.e moral) you don't like him viewing it or is he just too young? I tend to agreee with Rex Mundi, finding "safe" sites and allowing access would probably be easiest and cause less embarrasment to him. As long as you don't have moral objections this would seem the best solution you can explain that some sites contain malware, viruses, spyware, rouge diallers (my little bro got caught with one of these and ran up a £300+ phone bill on my dad! Admittedly my little bro is 20 odd and should've known better!)

My son... is obviously going on !!!!!! sites whilst i'm out... the History window is open and... everything has been deleted

When I was a teenage geek, I used to have a batch file that would automatically delete my history and other temporary files. I can tell you now that I wasn't surfing for !!!!!! (like I said - I was a geek!) - I was just interested in computing and enjoyed "showing the computer who's boss". I wouldn't necessarily assume that he has been surfing for !!!!!!. He could have been downloading instructions for making LSD. (joke)

If you're worried about spyware, I'd definately recommend SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) and Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/). Both will help prevent spyware from being installed on your computer in the first place. A good antivirus program such as AVG Free (http://free.grisoft.com/) is essential too.

They only possible chance of a lad becoming less interested in !!!!!! is by finding a nice g/f.

You could try leaving a man-size box of Scotties beside the PC with a note saying you wanted to have a chat about onanism ;-)

Doesn't have to be !!!!!! sites, he might simply not want you to know what's he's doing. If my mum went on some of the forums i go on she'd find a lot out about me that she need never know.
A lot of it is me just being a right !!!!!! to annoy people and some is me having banter but if my mum ever read it she'd have a DNA test done and hope somebody mixed babies up in the hospital.

My suggestion is that you talk to him about the sites he is visiting and why.

I'm sorry to disagree here, but I find it absolutely amazing why anyone feels the need to ask an explaination of why a teenage boy wants to look at naked women.

    IT IS PERFECTLY NATURAL!!!!!!!!!!

It would be more worrying if he DIDN'T want to look at these images.

    Come on..............get real people.

The OP has a choice of blocking these type of sites (which stands a good chance of being found a way around), or coming to an agreement with him that will at least keep the computer safe.

If you block him looking at these sites from home..............he will go around friends, or find some other way of finding this sort of stuff.

Don't think it is so strange!!!! He is a teenage boy for gods sake!!!!

Right son. I think we need to talk..
Why do you find the need to sit at the computer belting one out while looking at pictures of Britney Spears face super imposed onto a naked woman

That'll be the shortest conversation you'll ever have with your son.
