best sweet stuff for wasp traps?

only really when people get all flappy about them do they sting, or disturbing the nest. Yes a pest whilst eating al fresco, but if its not the wasps, its the flies, or mossies...

I'm not sure if the different types have varying 'personalities' too. My underground, abandoned-mouse-hole-living German wasps seem very docile. I've noticed they usually approach their burrow from the south, so if I stand or sit directly south and block the way, they just go round me. I can be as close as 1' and they take no notice

Last night, I Flymo'd over the entrance to their nest for the third time this year and got the same reaction as usual. About 50 of them got very excited and buzzed around the hole, but they didn't attempt to chase me, or seem to link me to what happened, even though I was standing no more than 6' away (ready to run, if necessary.) After a couple of minutes, they just got on with their lives and I carried on mowing.
