See, I'm in a small town outside of the city with notoriously high rent and limited customers, so I guess the shops have to charge more! They rarely have anything decent in either, even for re-purposing which is a shame. I do love the ones in other towns, in fact I think I might see if my Mum wants to go on a trawl on Saturday as I'm off work :) I need to get using the sewing machine so finding some cheap bits to alter would be perfect.

PF- sorry your feeling rotten :( make yourself a hot drink and snuggle up tonight. And yes, leave the clothes for a few days, it is funny how much a change in mood can shift perception x

Yeah I think you're right..but i do keep thinking that if i take it all back I could to actually leave the house for the rest of the month :) which may be better..I love the polka dot skirt, but not sure what to wear it with, and it's a lot shorter than anticipated :(
going to get started on undoing all my pesky necklaces too, and will put some pics on the blog..

Just popped back as I forgot to add my outfit:
I'm wearing the floral dress over the long sleeve orange top (from the photos the other day)
I'm also wearing mustard tights (first time since buying when DP or was it Miss Selfridge? had a really good sale on accessories)
Black studded boots - from the great boots hunt that some of you might remember (I god a teensy bit obsessed!)
    grey wooly cardi.

Or you could just look at the picure on MY BLOG!!!!

I'm so excited and proud, it's actually really nice to be able to talk about myself without being distracted or interupted so I hope I keep going with it.

Yay vicki, I promise to check the new blog out tomorrow from my computer!
I thought I'd hate the pics etc when I started mine, but one thing it has dine is given me a lot more confidence and the realisation that the way I see myself isn't necessarily the same as the way others see me..which was an important lesson for me..
Currently waiting for toenails to dry..
  • following your blog vicki :)

    Evening,

Hugs to those who're feeling a little bit down in the dumps.

Bitterly cold here in Scotland this morning, so dressed for warmth (although not quite well enough!) in long black woolly jumper, black leggings (def too thin for today - lesson learnt the hard way!) and long black boots.

Mariel - was it you who mentioned the book challenge? I could be up for that! Really need to rediscover the library rather than buying books online every other day (I'm a fast reader - either that or I have way too much time on my hands!).

Daisy - I love your blog and seeing the outfits you put together. Only you can decide whether to continue or not, but it does seem like something you enjoy doing. Bullies will appear in all walks of life, whatever age you get to - something I thought would disappear as I got older, but no - there are 40-something bullies in my work, you'd think they'd be past that. Shame to let them stop you from doing something you love and that we all get so much out of.

On a lighter note, TFI Friday tomorrow!!

    xx

Hello, hello, hello. I love that this thread is getting so busy but I hate how behind I've fallen! Still having a tough time at work, never have a spare second to do anything, am feeling dangerously close to break down! ARGH!

Daisy - don't let the opinions of others rule your head. I know that's a really hard mantra to live by, because we all judge ourselves by other people's standards at one point or another, but you really must do what is best for YOU.

If taking the full length photos is too much right now, why not focus in on particular bits of each outfit? I always try to do a 'details' section that focuses on the shoes, the accessories and the detail on my clothing. Maybe that would be a little less scrutinised? At the end of the day, if your blog makes you happy then don't give it up for anyone. It's yours to run as you wish. :)

I have a day off work tomorrow and just couldn't be happier about it - finally, a chance to catch up! OH and I are going away for the weekend so it'll be a nice break from the computer. :)

    Today I wore:

    Skinny jeans
    Floral vest
    Grey tee
    Grey longline cardigan
    Grey workman's boots
2 owl necklaces (yes, two! I have an obsession!)
    Mauve coloured cocktail ring

Hope the rest of you are fine and dandy. If anyone wants my eBay name please PM me - I sell lots! :)

I went and read your comments, Daisy. I don't ever read what other people have written, just what you write yourself. I think you've got one (possibly two, but they look like the same person) troll and a few people who don't understand your story. Maybe if you spoke about it on your blog, your commenters would be a little more understanding? I'm sure they would.

I always think getting things off my mind on my blog is really cathartic. I hope you find a solution that works for you. :) xx
  • I am a long time lurker here and read all of your blogs but just wanted to say daisybella I love reading your blog please don't be put off by small minded people.
