Luckily I can wear jeans or generally what I like for work (I work in a museum) so pretty lucky. I got really fed up of wearing "work wear" ,trousers, shirt etc so branched out and now much prefer skirts/dresses etc.
same here with restriction-free working..i never ever wear trousers these days - used to live in jeans during college, but then wore out my fave pair, and never found any i likes so much since..these days i'm def a dresses girl and tend to not bother with the same outfit twice..bad i know!
well at least i know it's not just my pc that's playing up, but bad tht it's having problems..hope the Mr sorts it, GG0 -
Layering helps with dresses,as I never saw myself as being a dress type. Wearing long sleeves under a short sleeve dress ,wearing a longer cardigan ,then wearing with coloured/opague tights or leggings helps. Knitted dresses are great for feeling more dressed down ,plus nice and snug0

Completley- I used to have major dress phobia, and now I prefer them over all else. I started buy getting a basic long sleeve jersey one, and gradually getting braver.
As for the feeling the places you go aren't worth getting dressed up for; I spend much of my life (sadly) at home, but still dress up. I mentally feel better if I've made an effort than if I stay in PJs all day, or wear jeans and scruff tee.
My staying in today didn't last...popped up to Tesco, bit of a mistake as there are no main roads where I'm located and everything was one big ice rink. Oh well.0 -
I get what you mean CompletelyLost, I have no problem wearing dresses for work or nights out but (apart from very summery ones I'd wear on holiday) I never actually wear dresses just for going to the cinema for example, I find them too dressy. But then the whole reason I joined here was to try and make more of an effort so it's something I'll have to try harder with. Daisy do you remember the advert where the girl is working in a greasy spoon wearing a gorgeous strapless prom dress? Such a good way to be!
I have a fashion question. I really like all the 3/4 sleeved blazers around at the mo (or in the sales at the mo, my finger's not very on the pulse!) But I'm 6ft tall and have real trouble finding jackets that fit around the shoulders. I have an old smart black jacket with one button that I used to wear for interviews, would that work if I rolled the sleeves up, or is it obviously a smart jacket? (You can see a not-very-good picture here).Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Thanks Daisy (Sorry when I said PF before I meant you, looked at the pic instead of the name and confused myself) - would have preferred a navy one but may be brave one of these days and leave the bedroom in it!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

ASOS have really nice, simple jersey dresses and have a really good sale on at the moment (which I am desperately trying to avoid
). I often wear shorter dresses over my skinny jeans then wear with a longer cardigan, which are really good if you feel a little paranoid at first.

Yes! I have this problem! And don't you find that the ones they decide to include in the 'Tall' ranges are the ones you hate?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
