Am trying to find out if I should buy theatre tickets now or wait until nearer the time. Am going to london last weekend in September and don't know if that is still considered a busy time. Know lastminute.com often have good deals but how near the date do they go on sale. There are several shows I would go and see.

what shows do you want to go and see? there are some deals around which I think go up until september. If you let me know which shows you want to see I'll have a look and see what I can find

thanks for your offer of help.
Things like Lion King, Jersey Boys preferrably music related. Something that you leave the theatre feeling happy. Have seen We will rock you, Wicked and Buddy and don't want to see Mamma Mia. Not sure about Les Mis but if it was cheap enough would give it a shot. Matinees are fine.0 -
dont think you are gonna find offers for lion king, jersey bots and wicked.
les mis always has offers too.
have you seen hairspray? thats fab, not music related though but a musical ticketmaster has a bogof for it tommorow.
also throughly reccomend avenue Q and thats got loads of offers at the mo.
check out theatremonkey.co.uk for the latest offers on all shows and enjoy!0 -
sorry to say I couldnt find any offers for either jersey boys or lion king. The best that I could suggest for Jersey Boys cheap tickets are front row - these are £20 + booking fee but are severly restricted view due to the height of the stage. These are bookable in advance from the theatre. Les Mis also do front row for £20 and these are bookable in advance also. I would also reccomend Hairspray who do day tickets and Le Cage Aux folles is great and so is Sister Act. Really sorry I cant help further but Lion King and Jersery Boys are very popular in London.

Jersey boys is almost always on tkts now(£38), its not massivly popular like in New York and there are other offers about.
La Cage and Sister act are great shows, La Cage tickets are usually available for £25 (sometimes lower) but discounts may disappear a bit as John Barrowman joins the cast mid september. Sister Act (like hairspray, wicked, billy elliot...)has £25 dayseats which are excellent and you dont have to queue too early.
Sign up to the Enjoy London for less free/almost free tickets mailing list near the time as you may be able to fill your evening or afternoon with a show for £3. http://www.enjoylondonforless.com/0 -
Thanks to you all for your help. Have signed up for this news letter and will be checking the websites. I think the fact that we are fairly flexible will help us find something.0

Standing at The Globe for some culture that I won't understand. A New World or Love's Labour's Lost.
Any comments appreciated particularly which Globe production is better for a non intellectual.0 -
The longer you leave it the less choice you will have on seats , the offers tend to be on the cheaper seats . I would rather pay the extra have a great seat and really enjoy the show , then have cheaper tickets and not such a good experienceVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0
