Ryanair Online check in question

Hi, i have booked a flight to London for my family, myself, my sister and my mother.
Me and my sister both have passports, but my mum doesnt, she only has a driving license.
I intend to use the online check in service so i dont have to pay the money at the airport, now i know me and my sister can use the online check in service as we both have passports, but my mum cant.
So does this mean, because of my mum it will mess up the online check in service, meaning it wont accept me and my sister.
If the online check in service works for me and my sister, and I print out the boarding card, does that mean we dont have to queue to check in, we are only going to carry hand luggage.
But my mother would have to queue, to show her driving license and pay the £40 fee each way.
Thanks

When do you fly?
From 1st October on any Ryanair flight you must have a passport regardless of destination
Ryanairs official blurbA valid driving licence with photo is an accepted travel document on domestic flights but can only be used if checking in at the airport. A driving licence is NOT accepted when using online check-in
PLEASE NOTE – passengers making new bookings from the 20th May 2009 onwards will no longer be able to select to check-in at the airport and therefore will be unable to book flights and use their driving licence as photo-id.
From the 1st October 2009 driving licences will NO LONGER be an acceptable travel document on Ryanair flights

I booked the flight this week, 11th of August, we are due to fly out on the 3rd of September, so this means my mum cant fly then without her passport, we are traveling within the UK, its silly she needs a passport.0

It's just the Ryanair policy, general automation of the check in service. Flybe or BA would allow you to enter without a passport and in most cases bog standard ID nevermind a driving licence, neither of the latter seem to check
However, on entry to the ROI you'd have to prove you were British and that your flight originated in Britain (boarding card) but I wouldn't forsee any problems
Here's the full Ryanair blurbImportant Information for passengers that have made new bookings made from 21st May 09 onwards:
All passengers must check-in online and bring their printed boarding to the airport for presentation at airport security and at the boarding gate.
Online check-in is available from 15 days up to 4 hours prior to scheduled flight departure. (Once you have checked in online by the 4 hour deadline your boarding pass can be reprinted up to 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure)
If you do not check-in online you will be required to pay the relevant fee to re-issue your boarding card at the airport.(Euro 40/ GBP 40), this fee is only available for purchase up to 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure
All passengers (including infants and passengers travelling on domestic flights) are required to hold a valid passport or valid national identity card including Kindausweis and Certificato di Nascita. - (Driving Licences are NOT accepted)
If your mum is intending to fly with Ryanair or indeed abroad at any time in the future might be time to invest in a passport. Fastrack is £97 but not available for a first passport0
