OMG! I have stirred up quite a stir. What ever complaint they have let them have it because I have the leaflet that has in words the claims they were making. I should not need to be subject to JUNK mail like this

We went br on Monday and today I find a letter from The Bankruptcy Protection Fund Limited.

They are literally saying they can help us keep our home, ensure our creditors are repaid and and the bankruptcy is cancelled.

Now I'm not swayed by their claims [TEXT DELETED BY ABUSE TEAM FOLLOWING COMPLAINT] (i'm naturally suspicious!) but I do want to know how they know i'm bankrupt. Only the courts know and I've only told Freemans Catalogue we're BR.

How on earth have they got this information!? I feel like calling them up and asking them how they know i'm bankrupt, what do you think?

Obviously, since the text has been deleted by the 'Abuse Team', I can not give you a direct answer regarding any 'claims' made by 'The Bankruptcy Protection Fund Limited'.

I can, however, say that 'Debt' in all of its guises - even Bankruptcy - has spawned a burgeoning industry of scavengers that see 'debt' as a commodity that can be traded for profit. Masquerading under the 'almost respectable' banner of 'Debt Management Companies', these vultures will usually offer a bankrupt the chance to 'annul' his/her bankruptcy by entering into an IVA, out of which they will 'earn' a, not inconsiderable, fee - often in excess of £8,000.00.
Little mention is made of the consequences of 'failure' of that IVA, or, indeed, the possible long-term implications that such an IVA may have on a 'bankrupt' who has equity in his/her home.
It is, certainly, true that a bankrupt can, at any time, apply to have his/her bankruptcy annulled through a 'Full and Final IVA', but this is normally only done through the Insolvency Service, with the Official Receiver acting as 'trustee' or administrator.
It is, unfortunately, quite normal for bankrupts to receive these letters - I still get the occasional one, three years after my bankruptcy.
So my advice - the same as I give to anyone who is contacted by a Fee Charging Debt Management Company' or IVA factory, remains:
'Do not touch them with a ten foot bargepole.'

Now if that merits a complaint - fine - but the abuse team should remember that it echoes the advice of Martin LEWIS:

I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I've had dealings with this company. They will arrange a remortgage/secured loan so unsecured debts can be paid in full (along with OR fees) and BR annulled.

I used to get asked for copy Experian reports - which my office refused as there is a confidentiality statement on the front saying only supplied for OR's purposes and not to be distributed.

And I guess it is the Bankruptcy Protection Fund making complaints to abuse.

Can I suggest that you file your statutory accounts at Companies House, they are now overdue and were due to be filed by 30th July. You will already be incurring penalties and are in breach of the Companies Act.
