Tesco DVD Recorder £59.99.

Tesco have reduced their Technics DVD recorder to £59.99. Don't know whether it is a useful machine, but it's certainly a good price.

The brand is Technika and not Technics
  • Is this not the Technika (?) - their own brand electrical - think there was more being returned than they actually sold. Even the shoplifters were taking them back !

TTony - you beat to it.

I bought one of these Technika Recorders just over a week ago. The first one went back due to it sounding like a jet engine starting up. The sound of it could be heard in another room because it was so high pitched. The second one wasnt quite as loud but was still annoying and this one made some other strange noise like crunching on a car gearbox when a disc was inserted and the drawer closed. Another thing I found annoying on this model was when it was switched off from the mains for just a few seconds then the date, time and other user settings would go back to default. I didnt bother trying another one just got my money back.

I bought one of these in January and it's been absoluteley brilliant! It also plays DIVX stuff from the PC, and I can plug in my digital camera via the USB slot. No problems with it at all.
I must have been lucky and got one that wasn't half-finished due to a tea-break!
