Do you always get proof of postage?

Because the post office is 5 miles away and I wasn't going to work for a few days. It was tiny it fits in a letter box so I could just stick it in the box at the bottom of the road (until they take them away of course!)
So it would have cost me about a pound in petrol..............0 -
I sent paperwork to Tax Credits and got a proof of posting. They never received the letter. I got hit with a big bill from Tax Credits as a result for "not returning my forms in time". They said that "proof of posting is not proof of receipt". I lost my appeal. When I asked how I could prove I had delivered important documents to them they said "you can't". Fabulous. :mad:Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0

Which it isn't which is why its called Proof of Posting (Clue in the Name) not proof of delivery. When I asked how I could prove I had delivered important documents to them they said "you can't". Fabulous.
