Do you always get proof of postage?

  • Because the post office is 5 miles away and I wasn't going to work for a few days. It was tiny it fits in a letter box so I could just stick it in the box at the bottom of the road (until they take them away of course!)

    So it would have cost me about a pound in petrol..............

    I sent paperwork to Tax Credits and got a proof of posting. They never received the letter. I got hit with a big bill from Tax Credits as a result for "not returning my forms in time". They said that "proof of posting is not proof of receipt". I lost my appeal. When I asked how I could prove I had delivered important documents to them they said "you can't". Fabulous. :mad:

    Which it isn't which is why its called Proof of Posting (Clue in the Name) not proof of delivery.

    Send Recorded or special Delivery, you need to get signature at the other end
