Only way to buy on ebay is look at the ratings and locations - I'd be looking 99.9% and 200 plus rating. The country is more subjective - risk Hong Kong/USA at your own choice - be prepared to lose the money & if you can't afford to, I wouldn't gamble on it - remember (AFAIK) you have little or no trading laws to protect you like you do with UK deals.

Thanks for that advice, I will be mindful of the 99.9 and the 200. and I think I will also stick with British. Cheers, much appreciated.
  • I bought a really cheap £3 battery and a desk charger attachment from a Hong Kong ebay seller (but with a 1,000+ feedback rating) last year for an LG 3G phone. I was wary and didn't expect it to hold the full charge for too long, but thought at that price it would be worth it even just to have as an emergency spare in my bag. One year on I can say I've had no problems, it does still hold the charge and has had as much use as the original LG battery (as I just swap them over each time one runs out) and to be honest I can't tell the difference between them when it comes to battery life

Just to add that the 99.9% can be dropped (to 96% at a push IMHO) - one #@~#@~ with a 'it took 5 days to get the item & I don't like the colour of the battery' comment to a HK seller really should be shot - this could bring a 199/100% rating down by 0.5%.

As ATLATA says, HK may be worth a shot, but I'd still say, don't buy it in a life or death situation.
