We have a Baxi 105e combination boiler. The central heating works fine, but it won't switch over to hot water. It started playing up a couple of days ago, if you turned hot tap on and off a couple of time it would work. But now we have no hot water at all. Any ideas anyone

Combi boilers have a valve to redirect the hot water through the heat exchanger when the HW tap is turned on. This valve can either be diaphragm operated by the pressure drop when the HW is turned on or electrically operated from a pressure or flow sensor (not sure which the Baxi 105e has). Movement of the valve operates a switch that turns the pump on and opens the gas valve. It seems that in your case the valve is not moving to redirect the flow so is either stuck or the actuator is broken.
BTW is the hot water storeage facility on this boiler any good? I ask as I'm about to fit a new combi, but am concerned about the loss of water while the boiler is heating up.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0
