Any tips for a car boot virgin? I'm a seller not a buyer and never been to one before but its got to be easier than listing everyting on ebay! Planning to go to the Dorking one on Sunday. Any info would be very much appreciated.

It's best to visit first as a buyer then you can get a feel of the type of stuff that sells well at that particular bootfair. My local one seems to do very well with childrens toy and books.

The dorking car boot is very good! There are quite a few market stalls too, one sells the previous months magazines for 50p each! Some retail over £5 normally.


Other Car Boot Sales Near Me:
Farnborough - Multi Storey Carpark - Every Sunday 11-3
Aldershot - Multi Storey Carpark - Every Sunday 12-4
A3 (Near Guildford) - Not been here but driven past it and its huge!!
Ripley (Fruit Farm i think) Not been to this one but its in the local paper
Also Blackbushe Sunday market is good (At Blackbushe Airport near Camberley)

It will be useful if those reading the thread could add there local carboot sale and weather they would recommend it?

My local boot sale:
Chelford market, Wilmslow will highly recommend it!

here is my contrbution to the car boot sales listings. I also list their websites as some are now closed until the spring.


This one is a good one, based in Shoreham at the Rec Grounds on every other Saturday in the spring/summer

Ford Market Boot Sale is on every saturday and is on hard standing, all year round.

This one has 2 different sites is uses, one is at Poynings (signposted from A/M23) and the other site is Shaves Thatch. This one starts about a hour after the one above and is in the same area.

There is also a new one in Sussex at Plummers Plain Garden Centre, All hard standing with some inside stalls. See local friday ad.

Also there is one at Plumpton Racecourse on Sundays.

Hi, the Dorking one is in Dorking station carpark on Sunday mornings. There doesnt seem to be a particular opening time as there are always people there even if you get there at 6am!

I havent been to any others so dont really know if its a big one or not. I guess that there could be about 80 stalls/vans there. Is that big?

If you are a seller I am told its a favourite in the winter because its on hardstanding rather than in a field.

I think that the dorking one is quite big, but the one in farnborough is huge, probably 2x the size. Thats worth a visit if your near there.

Cambridge, city football ground and milton rd are on sunday mornings, swaffham market have outside sale and auctions plus veg/food/clothes/hardware e-bay type stalls, on saturday morning
Near there is Methwold auction ,(small onea)on a monday.
Wels-next-sea on sunday mornng
