Orange sim card broken within 24 hours of registering

Hi
Just registered new phone and sim with £10 last Saturday, and next day when switched on it says "insert sim".
I have just been on the phone for the last 30 minutes to Orange and they won't send out a new one, I'll have to go into a shop and buy one they say. Is that right? Don't they have a warranty with sim cards?
If I get a new sim, is it possible to get your credit back, or do you loose you credit?

Thanks for that link, the orange rep said I have to go in to an Orange shop and buy one for £1, and the hassle of a 30 mile round trip.
The main thing is will the credit also transfer without hassle. Initially I had to go to the shop to get the airtime added. Orange 450 would credit the phone.0 -

You can definitely transfer credit between Orange SIMS that are registered in your name. This is what you do when buying a new PAYG handset. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
