Ebay- Seller changed mind.

Hi,

Just a bit of advice please.

Bid on and won a fireplace and fire on Saturday evening. Sent email immediately to ask when convenient to collect (payment was on collection). No reply so sent another Sunday evening as hate not paying straight away (just me being daft!). Had email 9.30 this morning as follows:

hi
would you like to collect thursday or friday
please let me know

Spent few hours trying to arrange the transport and have just logged on to reply, only to have received another email at 3.00 this afternoon saying:

hi
sorry have changed my mind not going to sell now

I am mad. She has 6 feedbacks so should I just leave neg. Wondered about non-performing seller but never had to do that and wouldn't know how to. Thanks in advance.

Yes - leave a neg :) Obviously didn't sell for as much as she hoped :)

I would also leave a neg! They could have at least tried a better excuse i.e. it got broken, their cat died, they've had their ears amputated...

(they might try and open a non paying buyer dispute though, in which case you could just pay with paypal, then open an item not received dispute, thus getting your money back...)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

One negative feedback out of seven total feedbacks is a hell of a negative score. It'll hurt their eBay credibility as a seller in a big way.

    Do it.

How would I know if the seller opens a non paying buyer dispute? Sorry to sound naive but I've always paid straight away and never been in this position before. Thanks

you get emails telling you, and "my ebay" has messages saying there are open disputes, the problem is you could pay with paypal, then get it refunded, then get a non paying bidder dispute....

if it happens just email ebay telling them the truth, as the seller is being very dodgy.

Thanks, but as I haven't paid (because she wanted cash on collection) and have only emailed to ask when convenient to collect, is it best just to give a neg now and forget about it? Or should I wait a few days? I haven't even replied to her email telling me she had changed her mind about selling cos I don't want to get involved in a slanging match.

    .

But you will have a transaction number to put in the paypal dispute which will stop the dispute. if you dont pay and try to explain there is a very good chance that they would give you a NPB strike as they only have your word to go on. I would advise to pay now via paypal. You will get the money back so thats not a problem and it makes it far easier in the disputes
