HG Mould Remover ( sold at Lakeland but other ironmongery places as well ). About a fiver - smells awful but spray on , leave , rinse off and all gone . Brilliant.

I agree I use this too, it's excellent no need to scrub just spray and leave. It does smell very much like strong bleach but works and keeps it away.

Black mould loves warm damp conditions - so the average bathroom is just ideal for it to grow. The best way to treat it, is to ventilate and heat. So, if you can leave your fan on (or open a window, if you've got one) and also make sure that your bathroom is heated and not a cold room.

The other culprit in the bathroom is the "pink" biofilm which is caused by a bacteria, Serratia marcens. Use the same method to get rid of it, but make sure that it's not on the bottom of shampoo bottles or other bathroom paraphanalia. A wee bit of bleach also does the power of good ;)

We have this problem in our shower room and it's been much better since we got into the habit of blocking the shower room door open for an hour or so after we've showered. We bought a cheap door wedge or we use the bin. It's been MUCH better which is good as hubby's asthma is made worse by mould.

Cleaning it up with chemicals is not going to solve anything, you need to address the problem by adding ventilation, ventilation and more ventilation.

Not exactly OS, but Dettol Mould and Mildew Remover worked a treat for me. Though I think it's probably just a mix of chlorine and possibly bleach (that's what it smells like anyway).

I had awful mould on my bathroom window and on the bottom of the shower screen - all gone now.
    Looking forward to the future.

I always wondered what caused that. It used to appear around the taps and shower door. It seems to have dissapeared recently though.

ETA - That might be the Dettol that got rid of it.
    Looking forward to the future.

Hmm, now that I happen to have and may just try some today! Does it remove the stain though?

I never knew that! We used to get that in our flat and I thought it was something coming from the pipes. :o

We've just moved into a new build and it's now started in our en-suite, which I thought was strange seeing as the pipes were new.

Afternoon with a bottle of bleach for me!

Motherkitty and meritaten I love you:smileyhea
Trying clean the mould in my loo was driving me up the wall, even neat domestos wouldn't clean all of it off, so I bought a bottle of Milton Fluid and it worked like magic.
