Damp and mould can cause health issues like asthma. My ex fatherinlaw I got rehoused because of how bad his rented accomodation was.My local housing association rehomed in 2 months.
I know even scrubbing down and glossing over wont help as he was a painter and decorator.Within 6 months it kept coming back.
Ventilation and heating do help but arent a cure.Unfortunately I dont know causes, but if its severe you could get rehoused.
Praps see if anyone knows on in my home/diy boards? At end of day the landlord should be maintaining his property. It shouldnt be at your expense.

I am looking for any tips on removing/lessening the mould spots in my bathroom. We moved into a new build last year and the bathroom has no window, just a extractor fan.
Above the bath, around the coving mould has started to appear. I did wipe it but it's come back.
    Any tips greatly appreciated. Ta

A mild solution of chlorine bleach should get rid of it but mould can be a recurring problem so I'd have that extractor fan on 24/7 if it isn't already

We have had this problem in our bathroom just recently, not just spots of mould but quite large patches of it on the ceiling. You need to get a bottle of Milton fluid and an old toothbrush and just paint it onto the mould. You don't need to rinse it off or anything and the mould just disappears.

I have some in my bathroom too, I can't get rid of it. It is on the silicon molding around the bath. I think it needs to be replaced.
I have tried the usual cleaners and sliced lemmon, and bleach :(
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Hi JackieO, would you tell us what this wonder product is, please? We had huge patches of this stuff on the ceiling soon after we moved in, as the window was broken and had been nailed shut! The landlord was persuaded to replace the window with one that opens, which has made a difference, but the patches are still visible. I scrubbed them with sugar soap once, which faded them considerably but didnt' get rid of them. Will have to try the milton fluid suggestion!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

Have you tried applying a paste of bicarb and giving it a scrub with an old toothbrush?

HG Mould Remover ( sold at Lakeland but other ironmongery places as well ). About a fiver - smells awful but spray on , leave , rinse off and all gone . Brilliant.
