Hi all,

We've tweaked the new forum page navigation to make it easier to browse long threads.

ForumNavBar3.JPG

Change always takes time to get used to but let us know what you think!

Insert From Martin

The reason for the changes were as follows

1. We wanted to make it clearer to people what the original post and late post were (for new users page 1 and last page doesn't mean the same as original post and last post)
2. In long threads before you'd have to multiple click to get to an exact page (ie 200 pages, it only listed eight at a time, so you'd need to keep clicking)
3. Some complained that we'd got rid of an original post button elsewhere, actually all you needed do was go to page one, but this makes it clearer.

I thought something had changed. Looks okay, I was quite happy with the old way though.

What would be an advantage is if we could choose whether to go to the top or bottom of a page! Like when you revisit a thread at "last page", and find that there were more posts on the previous page, at present it takes you to the top and you have to scroll down, but if we could click "bottom of page" it would be easier.

    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • Don't like it

I just noticed it in the last few minutes and don't like it because since its been 'tweaked' the links above it only work when they want to....the quick links, search, new posts etc.

Ok playing about a bit more I can be more specific. When on main forum page the quick links etc work fine but as soon as I go into a forum or thread where the new tweaked navi bar appears those links stop working. If I go into a thread that is on its first page (so the new navi bar doesn't appear) the links work ok.

Quite like the new format, but i'm also having problems with the links such as search, quick links etc as they are just not working. Not sure if it due to the new format but its a bit of a coincidence?

  • In the case of technical problems please can you tell us in as much detail as possible what happened. For example, what you pressed, what you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened that was wrong. Many thanks in advance :).

Don't like it. Nothing wrong with it before and i know it's not 'our' site but I think some things need to be polled. Sorry!
