We have a rigourous sales agent complaints process and should any consumer raise concerns with us directly we will carry out a detailed investigation into their concerns and act accordingly.

I am sure you can appreciate that I am unable to generalise when the circumstances of each and every sales visit can be different.

Please do not interpret this response as a lack of interest on our part, as we do take issues such as these extremely seriously.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for bringing this to my attention:beer:

I understand how many feel about door to door. I must confirm that we seem to get many reps around all of them are much the same not looking at our door sticker. However they all go over the top when it comes prices. I am not sure if any are better then anyother.

I have just had a very aggressive caller at the door claiming to be from Scottish Power and he spooked me somewhat so thanks for this thread.

The last doorstep salesman I had call was from e'on. I explained I was on a fixed tariff from British Gas and he simply said - "Oh well we couldn't compete with that" and said a polite goodbye. I was so impressed I found myself telling him I'd bear them in mind next time I switched. Good job I didn't promise though because I switched to EDF!
  • I had a Scottish Power sales agent try and sell me electricity, even going so far as to show me the incorrect prices - MPAN15, yet i live in MPAN14 and when i explained i worked for an electricity supplier they even had the audacity to ask me why i do not have my electricity though them!

Scottish Power are out-and-out thieves, lying, conniving rip-off merchants.

I pity anyone who has any dealings with them.

I tell salesmen at the door that they are being monitored by CCTV both sound and vision for their health and safety, and draw their attention to the large sign stating this in my window. They normally go away quietly.

Dont give them the time of day politely say no thank you and shut the down before they utter another word. Usually can see them coming any way so avoid answering door
  • I was at home with a rotten cold this afternoon, so was not best pleased when I answered the door to a Scottish Power sales person. He seemed to know information that I would have thought would be protected by Data Protection legislation.

The thing that I found most objectionable is that he would not admit that he was here to sell me anything. Apparently it was all just advice for my benefit. Then, astonishingly, he accused me of being rude, when I had been perfectly reasonable - more than accommodating in fact, considering how unwell I was feeling.

Well done Scottish Power. I'll be making as many work colleagues, family members and friends know about your unpleasant cold callers and underhand tactics. Good marketing, keep up the good work.
