Whats the best way to search for new Contract

Hi everyone
Any advice please on how to get the best contract/deal for our very simple needs.
Mobile phone: Prefer Nokia but not overly fussed. Nothing fancy.
Usage: Mainly for texting - occasional calls. Camera.
Network: o2 is good in my area but also T mobile not bad.
We are in our 50's and both have mobile phones with o2 at present. I have been with them forever - so long I can't remember. I have very good 'old' deal at £7.50 pm but have to add a bolt on for texts which with VAT adds up to about £20pm. My hubby has more recent contract 2005. Between us we pay out between £40 to £45 per month and I was hoping to reduce this bill. My husband desperately needs a new phone now as he is still using a very old Nokia (ex work one) and we thought this was a good opportunity to look for a better deal.
Any young brains out there that could help us please - we not really up to speed on mobile phones.
Many thanks

Try three.co.uk - they do cheapest deals with free calls between the same network mobiles and free Skype calls.
I have been using dialaphone.co.uk, mobiles2yourdoor and phones4u (all same group) for a few years now (and end up saving money with cashback deals - you can buy non cashback deals through them).
Good thing about dialaphone is search capabilities of the site you can find he right deal without much of hassle.
And you shouldn't be paying for text bolts when you get unlimited texts, 200 mins and internet/email all for £15 (including TAT) a month with three.0 -
Read some of the other threads on 3 mobile. If you want to end your contract with them at any time, it's a nightmare.
Your best bet is either an O2 30-day sim contract or a Vodafone one. Check out Vodafone reception as they have a particularly good fit plan for texting £10 per month for 100 minutes and 500 texts. O2 equivalent is £9.79 for 150 minutes and 300 texts. And you are not locked in for 18 months.
O2 and Vodafone seem to have similar reception where I live and Orange and T-Mobile tend to mirror each other. I believe that O2 and Vodafone sometimes share masts.
Edit:- Should have also mentioned Asda PAYG.
PAYG phones are pretty cheap if you don't want frills and Carphone Warehouse PAYG are all unlocked so you can use any network - not sure about 3 though.0
