Have tried to start using my breadmaker a few times, the problem is the dough does not appear to be mixing together and is coming out where you can clearly see the " joins" like a kid has been mixing plasticine, would really like to start using this again, any ideas?

I found it happened to mine when I put the water in last, now I always put it in first.

Ok i will try putting the water in first, its so frustrating,I have wasted so much flour trying to get a decent loaf,to no avail, yet i made decent bread for ages with no problem.0

Oddly enough it takes a real effort of will to be this unpleasant. Sometimes, though, it's worth it.

Anyway, I thought we used to be pals?0 -
Are the inside of the paddle and the spindle it fits on free of dried on bread?Sometimes mine gets a bit gunked up and I poke a metal skewer through it.Also perhaps try using a little extra water, sometimes it can need it if its warm weather, and be sure your yeast is not out of date. Thats all I can think of but HTH.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0

Thanks, there may be some bread there,i though I had heard others say that was supposed to help initially, but the spindle seems to be turning freely,I will have a go just in case that is the cause.0
