I don't have advice to help with your current situation and I'm sorry if this query is adding to your problems but I think you need to find out how your 2 insurance policy cancellations have been recorded officially.
You *may* need to be telling insurance companies that you have had 2 policies cancelled.
I recall the question is something like 'have you had any insurance policies refused, declined or cancelled or any special terms imposed'

Of course if you have already done this then ignore me
