Nationwide Building Society Internet Banking keeps crashing

Hi there
Does anyone know what the problem is with Nationwide Building Society Internet Banking?
I was told today they had a "big problem" with their internet banking last Tuesday. Everyone I know with Nationwide Internet Banking was locked out of their Nationwide Internet Banking accounts last Tuesday. The branches appear to know nothing and there has been no on-line apology. The system was rectified by last Thursday until today when it happened again.
When it happened the 1st time last Tuesday, I phoned in twice and each time was on hold to get through to the right call centre for 20 minutes and gave up, but the 2nd call went through to some type of main switchboard (indicating the phone lines were over-loaded) and I was told by the operator that there was a problem with internet banking.
I have now been locked out of my Nationwide Internet Banking again today.
Have they been attacked by hackers?
Is my money safe?
Are my passwords safe?
What the system does is tell you that you've entered your details incorrectly and have to re-register. Or if you are logged-in at the time, it throws you and out and tells you you have to re-register.
What is going on?
Nationwide Building Society call centre staff today made out it was me entering the details incorrectly! I've been a Nationwide Internet Banking customer since they introduced internet banking, and my pass codes and numbers are all imprinted on my brain as I log in most days. It would be a strange coincidence for me to suddenly forget my pass codes and numbers now, after all these years! and to do it twice in 7 days!
If anyone that can shed any light on this I'd be grateful, as I'm fed up with being fobbed off by Nationwide Building Society.
Many thanks.

Works fine for me.
I have just logged in and can see my accounts ok. Earlier today I transfered £5000 to Egg and that seems to have gone ok.
No problems here.0 -
Hi Andy
Thanks for your reply.
I have no doubt if it was a total shut down it would have made the national news. I'm sure it is working for thousands of people.
I hate to be a killjoy, but I'm more interested in people who have a problem and/or people who have got to the bottom of the problem.
Thanks anyway.0 -
Switch to a company offering reliable online banking then

The OP is with one, I have never known Nationwide to be down other than short periods of pre - planned downtime overnight.
Working fine for me, and was last Tuesday.
It is usually Abbey and Barclays that are down for long periods.0 -
I'm in the same boat. I haven't been able to log on to my Nationwide Internet Banking account for about a week now.0

They have been having problems for the last week or so, I got locked out last week (not sure which day) and was magically unlocked without having to request it.
I see it is down big time again today.
Cheers, Des.0 -
