Faulty handset, can i request different model in contract?
Does anyone know?
I have a Samsung Pixon M8880 and have just developed a (different) fault with my 2nd replacement handset.
The first time, the touch screen just stopped working. Quite bad since there's no other way of using the phone lol! Now my camera is playing up. I can take pics fine but when i go into view them, it's just a black screen (even though i can see the pics on the thumbnails).
They replaced it under warranty the first time no questions asked (so i'm guessing it was a fault they knew about)
What i want is a different model handset. I like this phone but it's a pain in the !!! if it's gonna break with different faults all the time.
I have an 18 month contract with o2 online which only started in March. Does anyone know if i have to take the same model as my replacement (if indeed they give me one)?
Thanks

I'm on my 3rd W995 in just under 2 months, with Orange....
Had another faulty handset few years back think I had about 7 handsets then they finally let me change but had to upgrade but without the upgrade fee so lengthened my contract.
Not sure what O2 would say though0 -
Not sure here either I went through several htc diamond with orange about 4 or 5, in the end I asked for a new diamond not a refurbished one which was completely brand new so I just ended selling it. I'm not sure if they are replacing your handset with a new one, but ask for this as that is what you purchased at the start.
Hope you get it sorted!0 -
Most networks will only offer you a DRM (different model replacement) after you've had the same fault on 3 handsets and even then you don't get to chose. They only offer you comparable models, usually 3...0
