  • :)hi,

    your welcolme pat.

i forgot to add that the carphonewarehouse website also does free delivery i believe so saving even more if there is not a branch near where you live.

also i see from the box/instructiopns i bought today that there is also an option if you do not wish to subsribe to the 12 month contract. you pay £120 for the freesat service which includes instalation, box and card.
this normally costs £150 and some details in case you are interested at:

    happy new year!

  • some1shy,

Not 100% sure but wouldn't this be a better deal.

Just had another look and £10 option is probably better if it includes £41/month package. If you want lesser packages, say £20, then the above link may be better.
  • A good deal if you are looking to get SKY anyway but regarding this statement :

'Give friends or family the new Sky Starter Pack for Christmas, and they'll get standard installation of their free equipment, and depending on which package they choose up to 2 months viewing, when they subscribe to Sky digital for a year '

I wouldn't be too thrilled with receiving a monthly bill for Xmas ;D
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.

For the customer what is the point of the Sky starter box?

You can get the BBC services from satellite without needing a viewing card at all, because they are broadcast "in the clear" (not encrypted). Sky, of course, would rather you did not know that.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • is there a way of getting these cheap boxes without signing up for subscription?
Baby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.
  • I dont understand why this is a good offer, you can get all the equipment free direct from sky and they're doing first 3 months half price just now.

Am I missing something then ???

I haven't got sky and these all seem good deals. However what happens if I take out a 12month contract and then move house in 6months can you transfer the contract

  • The Sky site is quite crafty - you can only order the more expensive packages online, but have to phone up for the cheaper ones.... ::) presumably so they can try to talk you into wasting money on a Sky World package.
