    hello all

i've just found this website and have been addicted to the wedding tips, and now i'm so excited to have found this forum - i'm looking forward to being able to chat about weddings all i like without getting on my friends/ families/ OH's nerves!!!

rose1960 - i've just noticed that we have some things in common - i've just booked my wedding for 16th july next year, also in bristol and also a 'rose'!!!
  • Hi everyone,

You all seem to be getting on ok. So far we've

    booked venue
    Ordered dress
    bought all the invites
    Given notice
Step mum is on course to grow the flowers
Best friend is making the cake
Booked the caterer and decided the menu
Started buying vases for the flowers from charity shops
OH has started trying on suits

Think thats it. When we went to give notice I forgot we'd have to pay, the poor woman had to sit and watch me counting out all the change from my purse. We managed to scrape it together with about £1.20 to spare! :o

I agree Jellie, everyone does seem scarily organised!

So far we've got a church, a reception venue, a photographer and rather a lot of ideas! It's hard getting OH to spend money on the wedding now with baby arriving first. I've fallen in love with a dress by Romantica (the morocco). I think it's a 2010 style so can't find it anywhere for less that £600 which is too expensive for our budget. Does anyone know if it's likely to go into a sale next year and if there are any good shops in the north west to look in?

    Thanks

Dont worry Jellie..some ppl are just far too organised..me included!!! Starting to worry that it'll all be done by xmas and then i'll have 7 months twiddling my thumbs.WeVE done the following:

    - booked venue, caterer, registrar
    - ordered button bouquets
    - chosen dress
    - marquee hired
    - hair/make up girl booked
    - wedding reception music booked

    Still need to
    -book dj/band
    -hire suits
    -buy bridesmaid dresses
-invites to design and get printed

Seem to be spending forever just looking at "Stuff"!! Im driving my OH mad!!Although it is fun to look at all the decorations and stuff, but I fear its gonna cost me a fortune.Ebay is addictive!!

    Hi Redredrose! :o

What a coincidence! How you getting on with your planning? Where is your venue?

I'm finding everything to be very expensive, everything seems to be around the £300 mark. Booked so far car, photographer, hair/makeup, venues. If you want to share quote prices just pm me as I've no one to compare the prices with to see if they are reasonable or expensive!
