Another point (and my main reason for posting) is does he really want to be saddled paying for this for 5 years? The car will be shining when new. In 5 years time (if it lasts that long), it'll not be so.

Thinking worst case scenario, if he crashes it in 12 months time, he'll get back about half what he paid for it from the insurance company (up to 12 months most will pay the purchase price). This will leave him paying for another 4 years for a car he doesn't even have any more.

    Do something amazing. GIVE BLOOD.
  • Oh my god, £20,000 for a Seat Leon and then a huge amount of interest over 54 months for it!!

It couldn't go to a nicer person.

its not just a Leon, its a Leon FR, with the technology pack....

    work it out.....

do you know of any 6 or 7 year old FR's there are about???
The FRS is of no better quality than any other Seat, it just has more whistles and bells. It will fall apart. As a previus poster pointed out, you can get a year old one at about half price. Does that not tell you something?
  • Sparklygemster: Do you realise the people posting are giving up their precious time to give their advice for no pay? You are not somehow paying their wages by paying your taxes. You come on here full of attitude, like a silly spoilt child demanding advice, and you seem unable to ignore the bits you don't like, the way an adult would. How have you managed to get this far in life without hearing a contrary viewpoint? I hope no-one else wastes their time with this thread. Do your own research to find out how best to waste your money.
    Good day!

I think the guy at the dealership was good.
What does the technology pack actually do for you?

its got the sat nav with the 5" screen, bluetooth phone pack and the options on the steering wheels, can use my ipod on it, quite a few little extras that he wants.

He was called Darren, went to the manchester dealer cos the chesterfield one was no good

I am truly surprised that they are classed as extras on a £20k car.
  • For everyone having a dig....we are trying to get the best version of this...

it is a VW golf gti under the tin, so it wont break! And there are 58 plate ones for 15.5k on low miles, but mostly diesel.

The only thing different is the bodywork.

If you do a search for a VW Golf GTI compared to the Seat Leon FR.....you will find it is the same engine, but to go for the Seat rather than the VW IS MONEY SAVING!!!
