Today I did one of the most MSE things I have done so far ........ I repaired my trainers by sewing up a seam that had split. Previously I would have just gone and bought more using the split as an 'excuse', but no ..... I sewed them up. I have sore fingers now (now I know why the thimble was invented!) but feel very satisfied with my effort.

I went to town, posted 2 item I sold on Amazon. Went to the veg shop and bought spring greens, cress, carrots and red cabbage for cheaper than at the supermarket and better quality I suspect.

Went to Somerfield and bought BOGOF items and then went to Morisons and did the same. Used a £3 voucher I had been sent by PG Tips because I compained about their tea bags being all dusty.

Updated my spending diary on the PC and started to get my April update figure ready on how much I have reduced my debt this month.

Went to my 2 year old nephews birthday party to had tea for free and have settled down to catch up on here while the rest of the family frighten themselves with Doctor Who!!

All in all a pretty good MSE day! Hope you've all had a good 'un.

Washing done and dry on the line, no TD used either. No heating on morning or evening! Think that's a first this year! (Probably scared off by the £173 quarterly bill that arrived yesterday  )

Into town by bus, got my fruit and veg at the market. Went bargain hunting in town for more birthday/Xmas pressies to no avail  Noticed that I am no longer interested in full price goods and bypassed all the clothes shops! I even went to 4 shops to see if the product was cheaper there than the so called offer in the supermarket. It wasn't, so got it in the supermarket to get the points! I think I'm getting the hang of this :rotfl:

Removed son's cash from poor interest savings account and deposited in new, higher interest savings account :D

Treated myself to 2 bunches of daffs for £1 off the market - first flowers I've bought since last November. Really miss them, as they were a habit on the weekly food shop. Not DFW style at all, but it's such a gorgeous day I fancied some happy yellow in the house too :o

Food shop with lots of BOGOFs. Got meat out of the freezer to do a batch cook tomorrow.

Slight downfall of popping into local Sainsburys (had forgotten something earlier  ) and came out with 6 more birthday/Xmas pressies - all 75% off!! £31 James Bond Interactive DVD game at £7.67 included, plus some ELC toys reduced from £20 to £5 and so on. So spent £24 that I didn't plan on, but that comes out of the savings anyway.

Updated my Xmas book - have spent £60 on 12 Xmas pressies so far - usually most of those are at least £10 a head, some £20. I am quite chuffed with myself!! :j

Quiet night in..better get wrapping some presents :rotfl:

Tomorrow will be the first time I've socialised out for many months - having coffee with friends in the morning. Looking forward to that, as it's their treat too!!

    Well done :T

I've got 4 pairs of suit trousers that have the hems down (usually by getting caught on heel of shoe  ). I really should repair them! Maybe that's a challenge for next week, because I certainly am not going out buying new suits!!

Anyone like to give an on-line class in how to sew hems? :rotfl:

I've only used the tape that you then put a hot iron on, so it sticks.

I do own a needle and cotton though...not necessarily in the colours I will need!

My daughter and I walked into Chiswick (would normally get the bus, but it was such a lovely day) and had a good old mooch around the charity shops. Got the Lonely Planet guide to Morrocco for her for 99p (she's going there in the summer) and a video of Sense and Sensibilty for her uni course for 1.99. The video had the original receipt inside - it was bought in 1997 for 9.99!

Did the tescos shop.. bit higher than I wanted BUT used a 40p off voucher ( never would have done this before) and used my Pincone research vouchers, and had a couple of RRs
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
