Reclaiming charges from O2

Good afternoon all.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I previously had a monthly contract with O2 however when this ended I changed to Orange. I sent a letter to O2 advising that I would not be renewing my contract. Unsurprisingly O2 (and I hear they have a reputation for this) did not cancel the contract and continued to charge me for the monthly line rental. This has been going on some time however im now wanting to see if I claim this money back.

When I took up my contract with Orange I did this through Phones4U who sent a letter to O2 on my behalf advising I was cancelling / not renewing my contract. The other day I found a copy of this letter. Will I be able to use this as written proof that I cancelled the contract and be able to get my money back?

If anyone has any experience of this or has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Gemma

You can recall through your bank, any direct debit that has been taken in error. It's part of the Direct Debit guarantee.
