Share your stoozed profits - Disaster Appeal

I did say some people will give, there are decent people out there. I didn't tar everyone with the same brush.
Daveboy - your earlier post stated that you thought that 99.5% of Stoozers would not give to the appeal. That is pretty close to tarring everyone with the same brush in my opinion. That is why I reacted like I did.In a way I hope that this disaster makes people realise how greedy they are. You may have played credit card companies at their own game - but people on the other side of the world have nothing, and that's if they were lucky to survive.
And now you equate Stoozing to being greedy. How do you know that there aren't Stoozers here who Stooz purely to give all their profits to charity ? Your posts are so damned presumptious yet you know nothing about any individual Stoozers. Some of us are well aware of the problems around the world which is why we have monthly direct debits/standing orders to charities that work in the third world. Do you ?
As for the appeal, I am delighted to see the generosity of the British population and I would encourage people to give what they feel they can afford.

Make sure when you donate by credit card, the amount comes off as a payment and not as cash...
I'll say no more!Val0 -
In fact it's probably better to pay by debit card than credit card, otherwise you're gifting 3% to your credit card company in transaction fees (assuming they don't have a special deal with charities).
It would be nice to put some pressure on the CC companies to pass on this particular windfall - I expect a good percentage of the total has been donated on credit cards, and so the amount involved will be large.0 -

Very good news, for which of course I take full credit. After all, I'm sure they read this site...!0

BBC news tonight quoted the figure raised from the British public as £76m.
Whilst this is an impressive amount, in the face of such a major catastrophe around £2 per member of the adult population shows that there are many who have still not contributed.
The advert asking for funds for the PDSA I caught on TV last night seemed very incongruous in the present circumstances. If only everything in life was dreadful!0 -
This forum is for the discussion of credit card related issues, I will leave it unlocked but kindly ask that any futher discussion be continued on the "Discussion Time" forum.
Daveboy, your posts are not illegal but they are often provocative to the point of being (deliberately?) antagonistic and as such can easily be demonstrated to be breaking this sites rules. If I receive any more complaints regarding them I will be forced to move or remove them. Might I suggest that offending the people you want to take action is not the best way to go about things? You are free to view this is draconian censorship if you wish but personally I think it is simply good manners.0
