I changed my address with them, seems they did not actually change it -Vodafone

After taking out a Vodafone 18mth contract I moved house. I called Vodafone and updated my address (as you do) and presumed they had actually done as requested.
I used to access my bills online and they didn't send me paper bills which is why I had not noticed the issue sooner.
For a variety of reasons I was unable to pay my bill and agreed a payment plan with Vodafone. Unfortunately the situation became worse and I was unable to pay, this resulted in my contract being suspended.
Now months later I was concerned that they had not been in contact with me. In checking my credit report it seems the address they have is my previous address, not the address I updated them with. Whether or not I should have contacted Voda myself is largely irrelevant as I would like to know if I have any comeback at them for informing them of a change of address but them not updating it?
I'm aware that I may not have a leg to stand on but it is typical Voda CS for them to say they have done something and not done it. During the time I was with them I had to contact Voda 2 or 3 times about any issue before resolution, however as the address was the first thing I changed I didn't realise and never thought anymore about it.
Any information would be appreciated. Many Thanks.

The address issue seems to be a red herring here - if you changed fine - they probably did that. Its your payment plan that is important - persumably through direct debit. If you don't keep that payment plan - they will no doubt pass it to a debit collector.
The address on the credit report is persumably your first address which was when the contract was taken out and that address is with the credit agency - vodafone probably know of your most recent address.0 -
OK, but if they know my current address why haven't they contacted me?0

Who knows - most likely if you default on payment they will pass the debit on to debit collector who will be the people who may or may not contact you.0

If you've failed to keep the agreed payment plan and the service has been suspended, then there would be no reason for them to contact you.The payment plan would no longer be available as an option and they would most likely pass the debt to a DCA for collection.
Did you contact them to advise that you could not keep to the plan and ask if it could be renegotiated? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Right, and they also haven't contacted me at my current address. I also believe that Voda would make an attempt to contact me before passing on the debt, which also hasn't happened.0

If you can't maintain the payment , the onus is on you to contact them. Once a payment is missed, they may decide to offload the debt there and then. It would depend on the full circumstances.
There's no obligation for them to contact you if they've sold on the debt.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
