Im going to have to cancel my direct debit repayment plan that id setup with my bank to clear my creditcard debt..,
which will be a huge blow to everything, as its taken 1year to get to this repayment agreement with them.
They still charging about 20% interest on the £8,000 outstanding balance and adding charges,
and so now that i gta pull out of the repayment plan just 1month after i made it will cause lots more problems.
I do am currently getting the 25% discount,
and i contacted the VOA last week to get my property rebanded.
Since im currently band B, which means it has to be the equivalent actual value of £110,000 or above.
I looked and the 1bedroom version of it in this same block of 3flats, (i live in the 1 of the studios),
but the 1bed flat is up for sale with aksing price of £115,000.
So its actual sale value will be no more than £110,000.
And so my flat value will definitely be below the threshold.
Combined with that when i looked on thd 'sold prices register' for all properties inmy area for the last 2years,
this flat which was built last year in July was sold for just £70,000.0

Councils very rarely allow payments from one year to run into the next and are notorious for sending collectors around in the first instance and then the court and bailiffs in the second-they really don't mess about so I would be very careful if I was you. I missread my bill one year and owed £11-I had a council debt collector on the doorstep and he said he wouldn't leave until I paid-luckily I had realised my mistake that morning and had run up to the post office with my payment card, had a receipt to prove it,but even for that amount of money they had sent a collector.
Yikes thats just harsh.. 0 0

IF you do drop in to the CAB some will do initial interviews before giving you an appointment so it might be worth a shot, or do they offer telephone/email advice? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It's definatly worth dropping into CAB with that credit card debt included - they have specialists in this area - please do go and let them sort this out for you.0

never known a council to go longer than March but may be wrong, think it`s a priority debt too.0

You need to re-do your budget to include the extra council tax you have to pay and whatever is left should go towards your debts. Council tax is a priority debt and should come before loans/credit cards etc. It might be a pain because you've set up a payment plan with this company but if you physically do not have the money to pay them, there's no a lot they can do. As others have said, council tax is very strict and you can taken to court very quickly.
Maybe give CCCS another ring and see if they can help you with your budget? Think happy & you'll be happy
 I :heart2: my doggies

The CAB usually have a contact in the CT recovery team that they can negotiate with and general advisers will usually do this as it is a priority debt and therefore needs sorting out asap. I have usually had good success trying to negotiate a more realistic payment for arrears in CT and most of the CT recovery team are reasonable. You would need to fill out an expendture sheet and keep up with your payments.0

Wont help with your council tax but might with c/c debt, what about the new Debt Relief Orders,a sort of slimline bankruptcy for those with debts under £15k,disposable income of i think less than £50 month(after all normal outgoings)little or no savings and no property?0

You must have debts of less than £15,000 and a low income.
A debt relief order usually lasts for a year and during that time, none of the people you owe money to (your creditors) will be able to take action aginst you to get their money back. At the end of the year, you'll be free of all the debts listed in the order.
You can't apply for a debt relief order if you:- own things of value or have savings of over £300
- own a vehicle worth more than £1,000
- have a private pension fund worth over £300.

Ahh thanks i will look into that right now.
I dont have any savings at all, (dont actually have what you could really call money), since every pound that i earn has already been stretched to covering the bare basics like food and travel to work.
And i dont own a veichle.
What do they class as ''low income'' though??
Does it take into account the area of the country you live in?
Or is it just a set amount for everyone to be classed as 'low', or 'not low enough'??
Because my income varies quite dangerously,
since i work shift patterns, earn just under £100 per shift before tax and travel expenses are deducted... ect
And i work between 13-16days per month.
SO it can be a big difference of £200 less some months.
And also i have to sometimes work at a different site, and if i work there i get ALOT less hours, and so my income then drops to barely £1,000 after tax.
(Which in Surrey/London really doesn't get you much in terms of accomodation and travel)0
