Another day another dollar.........
Today is my sort out mobiles internet and housephone challenge as I am sure I can get better deals and both contracts are now up although I am not sure that I can get a better deal than DS1s £15 a month but I will try even if I just get him a phone upgrade:D
Rang BT and I am paying £15.45 a month for line rental with evening and weekend calls included so I am definitely going to switch.
I think I can make the best out of a deal with Orange who we have out internet with. They have a home max deal where if you have internet, broadband and a mobile contract it comes to £10.50 landline £4.84 internet and whatever your mobile contract is.
So my plan is to switch DS2 £20 contract to an Orange one (getting a new phone in the process hopefully) so get the whole lot for around £35.
They also give you a free 2nd line which you plug into the livebox router and it gives you free daytime calls and free calls to orange mobiles which both the boys will be on then.......
Thoughts anyone? I am currently paying £58 for phone/mobile/internet
List to do today- Sort out phone deals
- Flylady
- Shop for food for dinner
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
I joined the flylady groupOff to Slimming World later for my weigh in, a friend of mine is joining this week too so that will be good company.
I got a really strange phone call earlier, someone asking me about the people who live across the street and if I have seen the son living there, very odd so I just played ignorant and said I dont really know them much.
.........probably a debt chasing agency.
May have been the Benefits Agency fraud team?Another day another dollar.........

1.5 lbs off and I got a body magic bronze award:D
Never thought of the benefits agency fraud team Jinks, it may well have been. I just pleaded ignorance;)But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
I think the phone ideas sound good! I've never had a mobile contract though so I've no idea what's a good tariff. Changing phone providers is a good idea, you might even be able to get a better deal from BT if you tell them you're leaving.
Do the boys need contracts? I know you want them to be able to call you if they need to and don't want to risk them being out of credit, but o2 have a thing where if you're out of credit you can have an extra couple of pounds to make a call, then they knock it off when you next top up. And there's also the reverse charge thing, although at £4 a time I suppose it depends how often they'd need to use it whether or not it makes it cheaper.
Do they do anything in return for the mobiles? Maybe you could make it a condition that they have to do xyz... Do they turn everything off at the switch? I'm sure they're used to leaving games consoles etc plugged in, so maybe you could threaten to take away the phones if they don't, and do random spot checks? Then you'd be saving money there to put towards the phones.
Don't know if those ideas are any good, sorry!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Well done on the weight loss! How often do you weigh in? I've been told that you shouldn't do it more than once a month.
I don't think the benefits agency fraud team work like that, they either contact the person direct, or do surveillance, I don't think they contact neighbours in that way. I could be wrong though! I'd have pleaded ignorance too.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Hi Lou- feeling any better?
I've taken a break from Flylady as I've been quite ill for the last couple of weeks. Been as much as I can do to sort out getting the house on the market. Reading your diary is making me feel guilty so I might head over and check out todays list- maybe I can catch up the week over the weekend!!
Phone deals sound good to me.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Ames you are 100% right..........
I am far too soft with the boys, feel guilty for putting any restrictions on them but I guess that is my problem that I should rectify. They are both good lads and it was me who bought the phones and the contracts for them thinking it was a good idea.
I cant understand my behaviour with the boys, I will happily go without in order for them to have mobile contracts and online games subscriptions.
It must have something to do with having nothing as a child.
You have made me think Ames xxBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
