Lou, How long are the terms?

How about banking the £14, and that will pay for next term's bus pass, then at the end of the year you'll have the last terms money to do what you want with!

    Excellent Idea!

Terms are usually around 12 weeks, the Autumn one has 13 weeks in it so that will more than cover the £87..........I shall give DS the extra as he wont get EMA. He is a good lad and is going to take a packed lunch to save money and also will try to find a Saturday job.

Once the bus pass is paid for It works out that he will get an extra £7.50 on top of his £5 pocket money..........goodness that doesnt sound much does it compared to the children who are eligible for £30 EMA a week.

Luckily he never asks for anything money wise and will search for bargains and good deals......just like his Momma:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Maybe sixteen is the ideal age to get a saturday job Lou, here it's really difficult under 16 and later the minimum wage would push it up a bit, maybe when older kids start moving away to uni it'll free up some jobs for him. Sounds like he'll stretch his money out well anyway.

Jinky, if you ask in the building society they might be able to give you the details you need, I had a similar problem when trying to set a standing order up to a building soc account.

I agree about the moped, I got a car because it was cheaper than buses, but I was a mature student with other income and an inheritance to buy it with. My sister's had a motorbike for 7 years, I was gobsmacked how little petrol it uses.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
