You have a sharp eye. I have no intention of making BT seem like saints but I get to see how other providers operate and where they go wrong on a daily basis (work in Customer Options).
Not really you join today and make 16 posts so far relating to BT extolling the virtues of BT in some of them.:D
You are supposed to declare an interest when posting about them if you work for them.;)0 -

You can only have one line rental provider at a time.
But for instance, if you activate an 18 month contract with BT, then take Sky talk 12 months you'd end up paying both contracts with just one line rental.0 -
Ahh lol sorry that will be down to me being new, I assumed declaring the interest only applied to links posted. I will bear this in mind for future referenceOldGreyFox wrote: »Not really you join today and make 16 posts so far relating to BT extolling the virtues of BT in some of them.:D

back to original post.
just to confirm when a connection charge applies.
If a line is STOPPED then it should be free to reconnect with any company.
if a line is CEASED then a charge will apply to reconnect regardless of what work is required to connect.
SKY can arrange reconnections but they are using WLR2 which does not offer the same options as WLR3 (which is what BT Retail now use)
Its all about costs to the business and sky dont seem to want to offer and pay for reconnections0 -
well I gave up with sky. It was a good deal they had offered me, but it was absolutely appalling service, so I've cancelled it all.
I decided to go with post office home phone, because there's no long contract. There's no charge to activate the line!
Thanks for all the comments and advice0 -
If you move house then there's no charge from Bt to reconnect your linetravelover0

Only if the residence has had a telephone service from BT in the recent past, and the wiring and socket is undamaged and the line still has dialling tone.0
